Something To Celebrate!

Something To Celebrate!

Something To Celebrate!

With all the gloom & doom stories everywhere, the thought of something, anything, to celebrate is a welcome one. When darkness is at its max, even a flicker of light is enough to spark hope! And maybe you remember those days, when an on & off flash of the bulb will get the whole street screaming…. NEPA!!

Well, this is much more than that! It is the celebration of when true & abiding light broke through the darkness of human sin, shame, suffering, affliction, bondage etc. This is the Easter! This is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ & the resurrection life he brings from the grave!

Good still wins!

Easter is proof that a lie may hold sway for a moment, but truth will ultimately triumph. Hmmm! A lie never lives long. It goes first & loud, but it also fades fast. Political & religious lies included! And sometimes, you’ll only have to wait out the lies, slander, insinuations & accusations. Jesus did!

The day we refer to as Good Friday was anything but good to Jesus. He was betrayed, arrested, assaulted, stripped naked, accused, denied, condemned & crucified. And most of it, very publicly. Yes, Friday was terrible, Saturday was forgettable, but Sunday still came! Your Sunday will come!

The dead still rise!

One beautiful lesson of Easter is this: you cannot permanently keep a good man down! Aaahhhh! They will try o o oh! The beating will happen. The nails will pierce. There may be a crown of thorns. The spear may wound the side & someone may offer vinegar instead of water. That how Friday goes! Endure it! Wait!

I know that sometimes we are tempted to give up. Forsaken & alone, we just surrender to it all. And they merrily bury us. It is over, they assume. The grave is sealed. Guards are there to watch over it! But the joke is on them. Sunday is still coming & help will still reach the helpless! The dead still rise! Never give up!

Jesus is alive!

It took three days! Three impossible days, but still, Jesus rose. He rose to guarantee that we will rise. He rose to banish hopelessness in life. He rose to make eternity with God available to all who will believe.

But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries.

“There is a nice symmetry in this: Death initially came by a man, and resurrection from death came by a man.

“Everybody dies in Adam; everybody comes alive in Christ

1 Cor 15:20-22 (MSG)

Happy Easter! There is something to celebrate. Celebrate hope. Celebrate survival. Celebrate your journey. Celebrate the glory days ahead. Celebrate the unfailing love of God!

And the party really begins, when in simple prayer, we ask Jesus to take over the throne of our lives!

Prayer

There is no place for hopelessness & helplessness! Your destiny will not be locked up in any graveyard! Whatever died in & around you must resurrect in this season! Your glory days begin now in Jesus Christ name!

Much Love
