Yaaah, it’s not easy, but we do it anyway!  Scams work because they promise ease, speed & exceptional results! And boy, aren’t we suckers for such! Hahahaha! But life is NOT about ease; it’s about fulfilling destiny purposes! 

Hahaha! King Solo was a wise man. He was foolish in many areas, but in this one, I think he caught something! I guess he looked at the mouth of a dead man & concluded that he didn’t like what he saw. Much labour, little flavor & no leisure! And then he caught a revelation!

A ‘situationship’ story begins with, “Pastor eh, it’s complicated”.  And the devil is wondering at who really complicated it. He is like the spider that wove a web. Then the fly entered the web & while working it, got it more complicated. The pause before the chopping is the spider wondering at the fly! 

With all the gloom & doom stories everywhere, the thought of something, anything, to celebrate is a welcome one. When darkness is at its max, even a flicker of light is enough to spark hope! And maybe you remember those days, when an on & off flash of the bulb will get the whole street screaming…. NEPA!! 

It’s obvious we’ve been in a season of madness. The Nigeria pot of commotion is almost boiling over. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong. Fires everywhere! And many people are busy ‘quenching’ the fires by pouring petrol on its flames! And that notwithstanding the fuel price increase! 

There are mouse traps & there are mouth traps! One may catch you rats, while the other is to catch you ratting. The traps make victims of the simple & simpletons. And as with all snares, going in is easy & unintentional, but coming out, even with utmost intentionality, is difficult! 

It was Buck Owens that wrote the song titled, “Under the influence of love”. Here’s the second stanza: “For I was under the influence of love; I wonder now what I was thinking of; Yes I was so in love I let her hurting me though I knew better; under the influence of love”. Kai! There should be an autopsy for that kinda love! 

‘Wayo’ na terrible thing! To hail a con artist may be similar to celebrating a murderer. Fraudsters can damage lives irreparably. And even when people recover after an encounter with ‘419’ thieves, their trust in humanity never fully recovers!

Medical science sure knows how to give a big name to anything dis-ease. Some of the names can knock the breath out of the hopeful. Ok, take this one. That tongue bump is called, transient lingual papillitis, and that funny hiccup takes this biggie, synchronous diaphragmatic flutter! 

Being criticized is not an emergency situation! It may not even be critical; unless it is for killing unarmed young protesters! Chei! But then, we all get criticized for not saying it right, not getting it done, not doing enough, coming late or coming too early, not having ‘the right attitude’ etc. Sometimes, we even get criticized just for being alive!
